Smith County After School Theatre Company
Smith County After School Theatre is under the directorship of Mr. Bill Reece. The group produces the largest community wide Broadway style musicals and dramas. The community event showcases talent from every school in Smith County and runs for two solid weekends in the month of March. Many volunteers from Smith County assist with the productions through stage design and construction, costume design, make up, music, and dance. Some of the past productions include The Sound of Music, Meet Me in St. Louis, Annie , Beauty and The Beast, Cinderella, and The Wizard of Oz. The 2012 production was Grease. Mr. Reece has also been successful in using this platform and donations from ticket sales to found the Smith County Backpack Program. Each year a large amount of the ticket sales are donated to this program to assist children in our community.
