Casey J Owen DDS Family Dentistry
Dr. Casey Owen was born and grew up in Smith County. He graduated from Smith County High School in 2003 and was accepted to attend the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. There he received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Microbiology. He applied and was accepted by the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2011. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Owen returned to the Middle Tennessee area to practice, gaining valuable experience in the field and furthering his knowledge, techniques and therapies by attending continuing education courses on a wide range of topics. When Dr. Owen first decided he wanted to become a dentist, he also knew he eventually wanted to own his own practice. After three years of being a practicing dentist he felt like the time had come, and started searching for office space to start his practice. With office space hard to find in the location he wanted to set his practice up, and since building his own space was not a viable option, he contacted Travis and Amy Dudney of Gordonsville Drugs and started discussing plans to build rental office space in Gordonsville. He also contacted his dental supply company and began to research the latest in office equipment, technology, and materials, taking trips to manufacturers to inspect production of equipment for the office. Dr. Owen wanted to offer his patients the forefront of oral healthcare including a paperless office with digital x-rays, quiet electric drills, and nitrous oxide to give the patients a relaxed enjoyable dental visit. Plans were made to open in November of 2014, and November 24th Dr. Owen started accepting new patients into his practice. Dr. Owen and his staff love seeing patients of all ages and offer a wide range of treatments including cleanings and gum therapy, tooth extractions, silver and white fillings, crown and bridge work, dentures and partials, and will continue to expand in technique and treatments into the future. “My staff and I are looking forward to serving all of Smith and surrounding counties with the best in oral healthcare.” -Dr. Casey Owen
