Dr. Melanie Cruz has joined Carthage Family Chiropractic at 516 Main Street North. She brings with her a conservative approach to care that centers on the function of the whole person, not just the symptoms. Her vitalistic philosophy that the body can heal under the right conditions draws patients from all walks of life. She focuses on the function of the nervous system and musculoskeletal system as well as nutrition, therapeutic exercise, and the patient’s specific needs for his or her life.
Dr. Cruz specializes in the Graston Technique, a form of soft tissue treatment for scar tissue, fibrosis, and chronic inflammation. The treatment has been shown to promote faster rehabilitation, reduce the need for anti-inflammatory medication, and resolve chronic conditions that are thought to be permanent. Graston Technique is used by more than 300 professional and amateur sports organizations. Dr. Cruz brings this highly sought after treatment to Smith County as the only Graston provider in the community and surrounding areas.
In addition, Dr. Cruz offers nutritional consultations and carries a wide variety of vitamins and supplements. Consultations with Dr. Cruz are specific to each patient to uncover hidden food allergies and sensitivities, as well as nutritional deficiencies. Nutritional guidance can aid with chronic diseases, systemic dysfunction, and skin disorders.
