The Smith County Chamber of Commerce welcomes new member Chad Willliams. Williams is a candidate for the Republican nomination for Tennessee’s 40^th District House of Representatives.  He is a Smith County native who was raised just outside the Lancaster community and has resided in the 40^th district a majority of his life.  He is a proud business owner and civic contributor. Currently, Chad is the owner of the Lebanon Antique Mall and attends Tennessee Tech University. He studies political science with a concentration in legal studies. Upon graduation in the spring of 2018, he will be furthering his education in law school.

Williams is an active member of the Southside Lions Club of Gordonsville – an affiliate of Lions Club International.  He also holds membership in two Masonic Lodges in Smith County (New Middleton #249 and Carthage #14).  Williams attends Lancaster United Methodist where he is active in leadership and serves the role of treasurer. Williams will be touring the 40^th district, which consists of Smith, Trousdale and portions of DeKalb and Sumner counties.  He stated, “I am really excited to begin meeting with the people across the district.  I am especially excited to speak with our civic and business leaders to discuss the issues facing our area.” Information and updates about Williams’ campaign can be found at ChadWilliamsTN.com.

Kim Gregory was born and raised in Smith County. She lives in Carthage, Tennessee with her husband, Steven. They have 2 children, Owen and Delaney. Kim loves helping people and enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Tennessee Technological University in 2002. She worked in Neonatal ICU and Surgery at St. Thomas Midtown, in Nashville, for several years while earning her advanced practice degree.
A graduate again of Tennessee Technological University in 2008, Kim earned her master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is board certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. Kim has spent over 8 years as a nurse practitioner in Smith County treating patients of all ages.
In August 2016, Kim purchased and started her own private family practice. She is thrilled to operate Smith County Family Medical right here in Smith County and serve her community. She strives to provide holistic, evidence-based care to patients of all ages, pediatrics to elderly. Kim believes that one of the greatest attributes a healthcare provider can possess is a strong ability to listen to patients. Her daily commitment is to listen to patients, speak the truth to them, and heal them – body, mind, and spirit.
Smith County Family Medical is a small family practice located in Gordonsville, TN. The practice consists of Kim and her experienced staff. Rachel Boles is her nurse with 20 years of experience in the medical field. Heather Johnson is also a nurse/front office staff with 15 years of experience in the medical field. Tami Bailey, who has recently joined the practice, is responsible for billing and accounts receivables. She also has 20 years’ experience in the industry.

The Smith County Chamber of Commerce would like to welcome one of its newest members, Dr. Bill McConkey. Bill McConkey is a retired educator, and still a corporate trainer. public speaker/humorist and political consultant.
Bill McConkey taught graduate and undergraduate courses in leadership, organizational communication and interpersonal communication, and American Government and Politics. Dr. McConkey received his BS and MS degrees in the Social Sciences from Illinois State University in 1964 and 1965. He received his Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Florida State University in 1994, at the age of 52.
He has worked for several government agencies, including the OMB within Executive Office of the President of the United States, and the U.S. Department of Commerce, and for the Governors of Illinois and Alaska. He worked primarily in military and economic and energy development programs.
Bill McConkey also understands the private sector, having worked as a line cook, farm laborer, janitor, groundskeeper, cashier, commercial fisherman, sports promoter, as the owner and manager of an advertising agency, owner/manager of a research and communication firm, trainer and mentor for international university students working the United States and stocking produce at the Carthage, Walmart.
Bill McConkey is married and has 7 daughters and stepdaughters and 8 grandchildren. He and his wife, Sandy, share their home on Friendship Hollow Road in Defeated, with their Schipperkes. His favorite things to do are cooking, public speaking, working on the farm, hunting, fishing, and writing.

The Smith County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce our newest member The Rustic Cabin. The Rustic Cabin began when neighbors Debbie Thrasher and Maggie Lehman, both moving to Carthage a couple of years ago, talked about wanting to see more shops open on the square in Carthage. Given the opportunity to rent the perfect cozy spot on Main Street, ideas came and a small boutique opened its doors mid November 2016.
The Rustic Cabin sells affordable new women’s clothing sizes small to 3x. You can also find unique gifts, locally made candles, home decor, refinished furniture and affordable jewelry. The ladies of The Rustic Cabin are so excited to meet everyone in town and appreciate all the support that has already been shown. Dalton’s Stockyard Café
We would like to welcome Dalton’s Stockyard Café and owner Mr. Jimmy Enoch as a new Member of the Smith County Chamber of Commerce. Dalton’s Stockyard Café is located in the building formerly owned and operated as Robbie’s Pastries and Catering, a long time Chamber member, which is directly across from the Smith County Commission Company’s stockyard and sale barn at 211 Colonial Street in The Café will be serving barbecued chicken and pork in plate lunches and sandwiches as well as take-out barbecue orders. Baked beans, white beans, green beans, coleslaw (vinegar or mayonnaise), spicy cabbage, potato salad, hamburgers and fries are all on the menu for dine-in or takeout.

Smith County Insider is owned by Colby McKinney, who also owns Colby Mac Productions, a video production company, and has 8 years of combined video and audio production experience. When you meet Dr. Christopher Bailey, he strikes you as a doctor whose goal is to help his patients maintain a healthy mouth and smile. As a general dentist, Dr. Bailey is earnest and enthusiastic about the training and experience he has obtained in all areas of dentistry.
Christopher Bailey, D.D.S. graduated from Spring High School (Spring, TX) in 1992. He attended Brigham Young University on a track and field scholarship, transferred schools, and obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis. After graduating from the University of Memphis, Dr. Bailey decided to continue his education and was accepted to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, graduating with his doctorate in dentistry. Although he is not a native Tennessean, Dr. Bailey and his family lived in Lebanon and Memphis since 1997 and are excited to return to the area. He is married to Erika Stambaugh Bailey of Lebanon, and they are the parents of three children. He enjoys playing and coaching football, baseball, and basketball, being on the water, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Bailey is excited about continuing Dr. McDonald’s tradition of “great quality care at affordable prices” and looks forward to getting to know his patients and the community.
